Free access to Sentinel for community organizations.

The Community plan gives full access to Sentinel, at no cost, to small centers running trails with limited resources — volunteer clubs, early-stage organizations, groups operating on donations. We review eligibility together, and access is renewed each year based on your reality.

Who qualifies

It's not your legal status that determines eligibility.

The Community plan is reserved for small organizations running trails with limited resources. It's not your legal status (nonprofit, co-op, association, etc.) that opens access — it's the economic reality of your organization and the role trails play in your mission.

Early-stage centers

Recently formed organizations building their first trail network or structuring their first operating seasons.

Volunteer clubs and groups

Collectives without full-time staff, where members maintain trails on their own time.

Donation-funded organizations

Organizations whose funding comes primarily from donations, fundraisers or membership fees — rather than significant recurring revenue.

Organizations finding their footing

Groups in transition, formalizing their operations, governance or volunteer management.

Why reality rather than status?

A registered nonprofit can have twenty employees and multi-million-dollar annual revenue. On the other side, a co-op or informal association can run with three volunteers and a handful of donations. Looking at economic reality rather than legal status is the only fair way to treat organizations of every size.

What's included

Full access, no trade-offs.

The Community plan is not a stripped-down version of Sentinel. You get the same tools as established networks — because an organization's size shouldn't limit the quality of its trails.

All features

Tasks, projects, structure mapping, inspection reports, time tracking, bulk editing and data exports.

Full mobile app

iOS and Android, with offline mode so you can work on the ground even without a signal.

Unlimited users

Add as many volunteers, coordinators or admins as needed — no per-user fee.

Unlimited trails and tasks

Map your entire network and document all your operations with no cap.

Onboarding support

A kickoff session to set up your organization, import your data and train your team.

Continuous updates

You get the same improvements and new features as every other customer, in real time.

How it works

Four simple steps to get access.

  1. 1

    You reach out

Fill in the form with a few words about your organization, your trails and your needs. No twenty-page application, no documents to submit up front.

  2. 2

    We review together

A quick email exchange — or a call if needed — to understand your reality. Most requests are handled within one business day.

  3. 3

    Free access for 12 months

Once approved, you get full access to Sentinel for a full year, including onboarding and support.

  4. 4

    Annual check-in

After 12 months we reach out again to understand where you stand. If your reality hasn't changed, access is renewed. If your organization has grown — new recurring funding, paid staff — we discuss a gradual transition to a regular plan.

Frequently asked

What people ask us.

We reach out to understand how your organization has evolved. If your reality hasn't changed, access is renewed for another 12-month period. If you've secured significant recurring funding or grown a paid team, we discuss a gradual transition to a regular plan together, with reasonable notice.

No. The Community plan gives access to the same features and the same capabilities as the Pro plan — no user quotas, no trail limits and no cap on tasks.

Because reality on the ground is more nuanced than legal categories. A registered nonprofit can have twenty employees and multi-million-dollar revenue; a co-op or association can run with three volunteers and a handful of donations. Looking at economic reality rather than legal status is the only fair way to treat organizations of every size.

No. Access is always granted in 12-month blocks, and any transition to a regular plan is discussed together with enough notice to plan. The goal isn't to surprise you — it's to support your growth.

Yes. Sentinel is designed to be used on the ground, with or without an internet connection. Onboarding covers setting up your organization and training your team. Most volunteers are self-sufficient after a single session.

You can request a no-commitment demo via the Demo page. It's not required to apply to the Community plan — if you're already convinced, go straight to the form.
