Let your trails speak, effortlessly
Sentinel 2.5 turns your team's fieldwork into public information: trail conditions automatically follow in-progress tasks, with no one on the team having to update anything manually.
Condition boards — Create condition boards organized by activity type (biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, etc.). Each board groups your trails with a clear status: Open, Closed, or Under Construction. Trails can be organized into folders to reflect your network's structure, and an entire folder's status can be changed in a single action.
Automatic sync with tasks — When a task linked to a trail moves to "In Progress" status, Sentinel automatically offers to set the trail's condition to "Under Construction." When the last in-progress task is completed, the condition returns to "Open." No need to update conditions manually — they follow the team's actual work in the field.
Automatic reminders — As long as a task remains "In Progress" on a monitored trail, a reminder is sent after 8 hours, then every 24 hours via push notification and email, to prevent a trail from staying under construction due to oversight.
Embeddable public widget — Each condition board generates a widget you can embed directly on your website. Your visitors see up-to-date conditions without leaving your site, and the widget updates automatically.
Structure Folders
Structure management gets more flexible with a new folder system and multiple grouping modes.
Custom folders — Create folders to organize your structures by whatever logic suits your network: by sector, infrastructure type, priority, or any other criteria. On the web version, move structures between folders using drag and drop, with the ability to select multiple structures at once for batch moves. On mobile, a folder picker is available when creating or editing a structure.
Grouping modes — The structure list can now be grouped in four different ways: by status, by type, by trail, or by folder. Combine groupings to get the view that fits your needs — for example, structures grouped by trail, then by status within each trail.
Kanban folder filtering — The structure Kanban view includes a folder sidebar that lets you quickly filter the displayed structures by the selected folder.
Camera Zoom Controls
Sentinel's built-in camera gets a major upgrade with zoom controls inspired by the native iOS camera interface.
Zoom level selector — Three buttons (0.5x, 1x, 2x) let you instantly switch between your device's ultra-wide, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses. No more being limited to a single lens — you now have access to your phone's full optical range to capture your observations with the right framing.
Pinch to zoom — In addition to the buttons, the pinch gesture provides smooth, continuous zoom control, just like the native camera app. Perfect for fine-tuning your framing when documenting a detail in the field.
Photo Annotations
Sentinel 2.5 lets you annotate photos directly before attaching them to a task or sharing them in a discussion. Draw freehand to point out a detail, circle an area to fix, or add a visual comment — with five preset colors, a custom color picker, three stroke widths, and undo/redo, so your message reads at a glance.
User Preferences
The web version now includes a preferences panel accessible from the user menu, letting you customize the app's behavior to match the way you work.
Auto-open tasks — By default, clicking a task in the list automatically opens the detail panel in addition to centering the map. You can disable this if you prefer to simply locate the task on the map without opening the panel on every click.
Auto-open structures — Same option for structures: choose whether a click opens the detail view directly or just recenters the map.
Inspection Report Deletion
You can now delete an inspection report directly from a structure's report list, using the context menu. A confirmation is required before each deletion to prevent mistakes.
The report is archived rather than permanently deleted, preserving the complete inspection history — an important point in a context of legal requirements or insurance. After deletion, the structure's status is automatically recalculated based on the latest active report.
