Sentinel on the Web
This is the missing piece that completes Sentinel. The web version, fully rebuilt, is now available. https://app.trail-sentinel.com
The mobile app remains the field tool — fast, accessible, and designed for real-world conditions. The web version takes over at the desk, on a large screen with a keyboard and mouse, to plan, oversee, and analyze the team's work in the comfort of a computer.
A visual dashboard right when you open it: critical open tasks, at-risk structures, overdue reports, completed tasks, with trends over the selected period. The essential information is there, at a glance, without having to navigate.
Kanban boards for planning — Tasks, structures, and projects can be organized in columns by status and dragged from one stage to the next. It's the planning tool that was missing to get a clear view of what's to do, in progress, or done, across the entire team.
Project analytics and tracking — Each project has its own statistics view: time spent per member, workload distribution, progress. Perfect for tracking advancement and balancing efforts within the team.
Batch editing, advanced filters, and exports — Edit several tasks at once, turn filters into projects, export data to Excel or PDF. The tools a manager expects to work efficiently at scale.
Accessible from any browser, with no installation. With the combination of mobile in the field and web at the office, Sentinel now covers the full work cycle of trail managers.
Structure Inspection Reports
You can now create inspection reports for each of your structures, directly from the app.
Sentinel offers two approaches for your inspections, depending on the level of rigor you need.
With evaluation form — When questions are defined in a structure type, each report becomes a structured form. The inspector answers each question by assigning a score from 1 to 4, and can add a comment, photos, and audio memos per question to document their observations.
The overall score is automatically calculated using the weighted scoring system, where each question can carry a different weight in the final score based on its importance.
Without evaluation form — For structures that don't require a detailed form, or for quicker follow-ups, the inspector creates a simplified report. They manually select the status, add a general comment, photos, and audio memos, then set the next inspection reminder date themselves.
PDF exports and email notifications — Each report can be exported as a PDF, making archiving and sharing easier — a valuable asset when dealing with legal, insurance, or liability requirements. When a report is submitted, a notification can also be sent by email with the PDF report attached, keeping the entire team informed in real time.
The advantages of using evaluation forms are significant:
- Standardized inspections across all team members
- Standardized working methodology within your process
- Complete traceability of all inspections, useful for legal requirements or liability cases
- Better perception with insurers thanks to a rigorous, documented methodology
- Contributes to the safety of your equipment and infrastructure
Reports are accessible from each structure's detail view, sorted chronologically.
Audio Memos
Sentinel 2.3 introduces a new way to attach media to tasks: audio memos. When creating or editing a task, you can now record a voice memo directly from the app — a faster and more natural way to add a detailed explanation than typing text in the field.
Audio memos are also available in structures and in inspection reports, letting you capture an observation verbally instead of writing it down.
When an inspection report is exported as PDF, each audio memo is automatically transcribed in the document, so that verbal observations are just as clear and usable as written ones.
